Should I Drink Milk Everyday?

Like eggs, there is some controversy over drinking milk everyday. According to some posts online, drinking milk every day can cause bloating, upset stomach, and acne.

My opinion? Ignore that advice!

I drink milk daily and it has never caused these symptoms for me. Gluten (bread) causes bloating. Fake sugar upsets my stomach. Too much sugar causes acne. But milk? Not at all.

Note: Many adults are lactose intolerant. If this is you, then ignore this article and don’t have milk.

Should I Drink Milk Everyday? Find Out Why I Drink Milk Daily

I drink milk daily because I love it! I like how it tastes. Plus, I found the BEST milk to buy.

I used to drink normal fat free milk. Then, I discovered organic 1% or 2% milk. Trust me on this one: it’s 100% worth it to spend the extra dollar or two for the organic milk.

It tastes WAY better. Plus, it’s better for you.

My Favorite Milk to Drink Daily

My favorite milk of all time is the Organic Valley 1% Low Fat Milk.

Not only is it organic: it also has slightly more protein than other brands of 1% milk. One cup has 11 grams of protein vs. 8 grams of protein.

How to Sneak Milk into Your Diet Daily

I personally drink milk in the morning – in my coffee. And I drink an entire 8 ounces of it.

Go with 1% or 2% milk (versus fat free milk) and drink your coffee without sugar. And please, please don’t use fake sugar. (It’s so bad for you!)

I also will randomly have a glass of milk at night sometimes if I’m craving something creamy.

You can so cut up a banana and put it in the freezer for an hour.

Then, take it out of the freezer and top it with milk and cinnamon for a creative and tasty snack.

Milk for Weight Loss (Especially Stomach Fat!)

Does milk help with weight loss? In my opinion – YES!

Milk is loaded with healthy protein (to help build muscle) plus a little bit of fat to keep you full.

Research has also shown that low fat milks and yogurt can help with losing fat around the stomach. I don’t know whether it’s true or not, but it definitely works for me!

Nutritional Value in Milk

In case you haven’t checked out the nutritional labels on milk, it’s really good for you!

If you buy the Organic Valley 1% Organic milk, you’ll get 30% of your daily calcium 15% of Vitamin D, and more than 20% of your daily protein in just one cup.

I personally like milk the most.

Soy Milk

Soy milk usually has fewer calories per cup, but it also has less protein. It also isn’t quite as satisfying.  And if you are like me, soy milk can cause bloating!

Many soy milks also contain added sugars.

Almond Milk

Many almond milks only have 30 calories per cup. So if you want an alternative to drinking a glass of water or juice, it’s a good choice.

However, almond milk usually has practically NO protein in it. Plus, it tends to have lots of added sugar if you get a version with more than 50 calories per cup.

The Winner: Milk

Because milk has less sugar and more protein, I’d recommend drinking milk!

More Benefits to Drinking Milk Daily

If you aren’t convinced yet – here are a few more reasons to drink milk daily!

  • It helps maintain and build muscle mass.
  • It’s high in calcium.
  • It helps decrease the risk of osteoporosis.
  • It may curb your appetite.
